Ex-Eastenders Star Rushed To Hospital After Stage Collapse
By: C Taylor
17th Feb 2008
Ex-Eastenders actor Todd Carty had to be rushed to hospital yesterday after collapsing on stage. The 44-year-old, who played Mark Fowler on the BBC soap for 14 years, was “violently sick” on stage, but is now thought to be stable in hospital. The performance of ‘The Business of Murder’ at The Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage, Hertfordshire was immediately cut short, and the evening performance cancelled.
Carty’s agent Derek Webster told the BBC, “It might have had something to do with an ear infection that Todd has been suffering from for a few days now - I can't actually confirm that.”

Well, ear infections combined with a lot of movement (like you'd be doing on stage) can certainly do this to someone. Here's hoping he has a speedy recovery. |

in the News of the World they said it was a 'suspected heart-attack'... nothing like ramping up a story for the sake of it. |

Imagine, feeling that crappy and then have to have all of it happen on stage. Bleck...glad I don't work in an industry where "the show must go on"... |
