if this is what faceless has been uploading i've been watching, and i've been thinking the same as you aja Laughing its certainly not a show i'd sign up for ... i wonder how much they get paid?

funny that a couple left early because they wouldn't have a hair cut Laughing

it certainly seem a tough regime the prisons over there, especially having to kip out in those tents in the blazing sun ( us brits arn't used to the sun wink ) and being chained up cleaning up the roads and stuff

i think its a good idea though to get prisoners to do work like that, although i don't think as a deterant its really working

I thought the show was a bit soft actually! These two guys just said - 'Oh this is too much for me' and they just left! Any of the others once they feel they had enough can also just leave! I think they should have at least signed something saying they have to stick it out! Otherwise, once you feel you had enough you know you have the chance of just walking! Also, the Brits are being kept away from the other criminals for most of the time - so they only have to put up with some banter from the other side Razz It seems as if all the inmates are a rather nice bunch of people anyways Very Happy After all this negativity though - I have to say it is fun to watch Laughing

I think that if the brit boys were in the GP ...they would be dead .....or at least very gay by now ......

The 2 that left were little babies Very Happy

And for your info ..... this is just a county Jail...... Not even Prison...... Very Happy

I wonder if this is the same county jail that was in the news a few years back over a prisoner dying while in a restraint chair. I'll do a little web search to see if I can find the story.

Update: Possibly so...

Here's the end-of-series recap. It pretty much covers most of the most interesting bits from the series and has a few cutaways to the guys opinions after they got home.

Cheers for that Faceless...

I never saw the series but watched the 're-cap' here.

IMHO 2 weeks wouldn't be enough for most people & that bunch looked like they could have done with 2 months or so.

I'd have liked to see them cope with a 23 hour isolation regime in a 6 X 9 as most other prisons over here have too.

That said, I respect that they did what they did for the right reasons.

===========

I was touched by the guy facing the death penalty Sad

28 years old, in & out since age 9...
What a fucking waste of a life ehh...

Sad Sad Sad

I think Ch4 did another program/series called "Torture 2 - The Guantanamo Guidebook." I don't know how many parts it had, but it had a similar theme of taking a group of people off the street and treating them similar to the prisoners held at Gitmo.

It appears to have been part of a series afterall:
