It's sad to look back at a time like this to when he visited the holy land as a 68 year old man in 2000 :

"Yeltsin enjoys life in the slow lane"

Though can't help feeling he was responsible for allowing Russia / USSR to be raped by the wild-west version of the "free market".

They have to keep checking him from time to time because of the muscle-memory twitches that cause his corpse to appear to be ordering another vodka.

I hadn't heard that he'd passed away. I didn't follow his politics too closely, but he seemed to be one of the more laid back Russian leaders. If I remember correctly he and Clinton seemed to get on well.

he was a puppet leader if ever there was one. I'm not bothered either way about him dying - he was an old guy who had his time.
