Kenya Reportedly Deports American Author of Anti-Obama Book
Tuesday, October 07, 2008

NAIROBI, Kenya — The American author of a controversial book accusing Barack Obama of seething with "black rage" and of being unfit for the U.S. presidency was kicked out of Kenya on Tuesday. The deportation of Jerome Corsi came just hours before he was to launch his book in a country where the U.S. Democratic candidate for president is wildly popular.

Corsi, who wrote "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality," was detained at immigration headquarters in Nairobi for not having a work permit before being ordered to leave Kenya, said Joseph Mumira, head of criminal investigations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Corsi was scheduled to leave on an evening flight to London, Mumira said. Airport officials would not allow journalists access to Corsi at the airport and a message left on his mobile phone was not returned.

A spokesman for Obama said the campaign had no comment on the deportation. Obama's Kenyan uncle, Said Obama, said he was unaware of Corsi's detention and had no comment. A government spokesman did not return calls for comment. In the past, the Obama campaign has called Corsi a bigot peddling rehashed lies to hurt Obama in the U.S. presidential race against Republican Sen. John McCain.

Obama's late father, whom he barely knew, was a Kenyan economist and the candidate is considered by many here as a "son of the soil." Obama's last trip to Kenya, in 2006, drew thousands of Kenyans who thronged every stop of his tour. Ahead of the Nov. 4 election in the U.S., minibuses here are emblazoned with Obama's picture and vendors sell T-shirts bearing his image. But Obama was born in Hawaii, where he spent most of his childhood raised by his mother, a white American from Kansas.

Corsi's best-selling book, released earlier in the U.S., claims the Illinois senator is a dangerous, radical candidate for president and includes innuendoes and false rumors — that he was raised a Muslim and attended a radical black church.

Barack Obama is Muslim, according to nearly one in five Americans surveyed
Poll held before Ground Zero mosque furore finds 18% of people believe US president is Muslim, not Christian
Mark Tran
guardian.co.uk,
19 August 2010

Almost one in five Americans believe that Barack Obama is a Muslim, according to a new poll, despite his public statements about his Christian faith. The survey by the Pew Research Centre found that 18% now say that the US president is a Muslim, up from 11% in March 2009. Only about one-third of adults (34%) say Obama is a Christian, down sharply from 48% in 2009. Forty three percent say they do not know Obama's religion.

The survey was completed in early August, before Obama's recent comments about the proposed construction of a mosque near the site of the former World Trade Centre, which have landed him in political hot water. The president has said he believes Muslims have the right to build an Islamic centre there, but refrained from taking a position on whether or not it should actually be built two blocks from Ground Zero. The issue has become politically charged ahead of congressional races in mid-November, with Republicans accusing Obama of being out touch with mainstream America.

The Pew Research Centre noted that the belief that Obama is a Muslim has increased most sharply among Republicans, (up 14 points) since 2009, especially conservative Republicans (up 16 points). But the number of independents who say Obama is a Muslim has also increased significantly (up eight points). There has been little change in the number of Democrats who say Obama is a Muslim, but fewer Democrats today say he is a Christian.

The White House is concerned that beliefs about Obama's religion are linked to political judgments about him. Those who say he is a Muslim overwhelmingly disapprove of his job performance, while a majority of those who think he is a Christian approve of the job Obama is doing. Those who are unsure about Obama's religion are about evenly divided in their views of his performance.

The White House blamed "misinformation campaigns" by the president's opponents. "While the president has been diligent and personally committed to his own Christian faith, there's certainly folks who are intent on spreading falsehoods about the president and his values and beliefs," Obama's faith adviser, Joshua DuBois, told the Washington Post. DuBois pointed to six speeches on faith that the president has given in which he talked about his beliefs, but said coverage of Obama's Christianity has been scant compared with news about the economic crisis, legislative battles and other issues.

Pew analysts attribute the findings to attacks by his opponents and Obama's limited attendance at religious services, particularly in contrast with presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton. Andrew Kohut, the Pew Research Centre's director, said the confusion partly reflected "the intensification of negative views about Obama among his critics". Alan Cooperman, the Pew Forum's associate director for research, said that with the public hearing little about Obama's religion, "maybe there's more possibility for other people to make suggestions that the president is this or he's really that or he's really a Muslim".

Obama is the Christian son of a Kenyan, Barack Obama Sr. Obama Sr was raised Muslim. Between the ages of six and 10, Obama lived in predominantly Muslim Indonesia with his mother and Indonesian stepfather. During the election campaign, rightwing commentators such as Rush Limbaugh used his full name, Barack Hussein Obama, in an attempt to portray him as somehow un-American. Rightwingers also spread the false allegation that Obama had attended a madrassa in Indonesia.

this survey proves that at least 18% of the American population shouldn't be allowed to vote...

i know you'll probably ignore me, but i'm really really interested in why you think that? can you tell me, or show me some articles, or videos or whatever, that explains your point of view. i know you won't want to debate it, so i won't disagree or dismiss or engage in debate with whatever you say or link to, and i know nothing that i could ever say or show you would change your mind, i'm just really interested in why you think what you do, so can you just explain or show me some articles or whatever that'll help me understand where you're coming from. Smile

i will have to put your name on the list for the socialist reeducation camps that obama will be starting soon though ( once the revolution is complete ) wink

Pirty, you should read that thread about Jimmy Reid which is just beneath this one at the moment. He's a much clearer example of what a socialist is.

Obama is middle of the road at his most extreme...

i did a google to see if i could find anything that helped explain pirty's view, but i couldn't really find anything. its all is obama a socialist - no

i even found this one by david frum, former special assistant to president bush and member of the american enterprise institute, a conservative think tank, and he argues no!

http://www.frumforum.com/is-obama-a-socialist

i also found an article from the christian science monitor ;

Is Obama a socialist? What does the evidence say?
Some critics cite government 'takeover' of business and 'giveaways' to the poor as signs that President Obama is a socialist. Members of the Socialist Party are among those who disagree.

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/2010/0701/Is-Obama-a-socialist-What-does-the-evidence-say

"Socialism suggests getting rid of capitalism altogether," says Dr. Rachleff. "Mr. Obama is not within a million miles of an ideology like that."

For what it's worth, socialists deny that Obama is one of them – and even seem a bit insulted by the suggestion.

"I have been making a living telling people Obama is not a socialist," says Frank Llewellyn, national director of the Democratic Socialists of America. "It's frustrating to see people using our brand to criticize programs that have nothing to do with our brand and are not even working."

Adds Billy Wharton,co-chair of the Socialist Party USA: "I am not even sure he's a liberal. I call him a hedge fund Democrat."

Pirty is not alone on this. I checked the Alex Jones website the other day and found they were selling, down with socialsim, type t-shirts.

I get the impression though, Alex Jones is just one of those anti-government - live out in the forest types.
