DANNY MORRISON, the former Sinn Fein publicity officer, is now a successful author and playwright. He's put me centre-stage in a political drama set in West Belfast, where a Westminster by-election will follow if Gerry Adams is elected south of the border in the forthcoming elections in the Irish republic.
Morrison argues in the Andersonstown News that I should run as an independent in the contest with Sinn Fein support, neatly solving the conundrum that, although elected as MPs, Sinn Feiners are duty bound not to participate in the British parliament.
Whilst flattering, Danny's suggestion isn't going anywhere - as the BBC website might have discovered if they contacted me for comment before splashing the tale on their Northern Ireland site.
My Holyrood hopes, on the other hand, remain high, helped by weekend reports that my old friend Gail Sheridan will not after all be opposing me in the Glasgow lists for the May elections.
