Microwaved iPad for sale on eBay Longing to get your hands on Apple's sleek new toy? Don't mind if it's a little bit, um... destroyed? Luckily for you, an 'artist' is selling a freshly microwaved 3G iPad on eBay - and there's video of the microwaving.
The microwaving is carried out by 'microwave artist' Kenny Irwin, of Palm Springs in Florida, who has a long track record of microwaving things - using his specially built one ton 'microwave robot', which he calls the Amir 9000. Previously, Irwin has microwaved an iPhone 3G.
The iPad microwaving is a long and thorough process - no quick 30 second burst of microwaves here. First, the iPad is booted up, backed up to a MacBook, connected to its 3G data network, and finally made to load the YouTube of the previous destruction of the iPhone. It's like a serial killer taunting his newest victim. Then, the iPad is placed into the Amir 9000, and given 18 minutes of microwaves on full power. By the end, it's in flames. (In the video, you might want to skip ahead to 6.30, which is when things get burny.)
The current bidding for the ruined remains of the iPad - which will come 'beautifully encased in museum quality resin with stylish display stand signed and dated by the artist' - stands at $69, or $760 less than it would have cost before being microwaved.
This should be in cult news! lol! lol!! Most people who own Apple products warship the ground the company walks on...lol! Except for me of course. lol! That was pretty cool.
haha yeah, you're not wrong there - I saw there was a thing today from Steve Jobs, saying that the conditions at the factory where so many have committed suicide were 'great' or something...
That's like Jim Jones saying 'this kool-aid's real tasty, mmmmm, drink it down my gullible loyal acolytes'
