So, it wasn't who I thought it would be! I thought the episode was done very well, although it seemed a much quicker pace than a usual episode (for good reason!).

I really didn't think it would be Stacey, but she handled the episode really well and did a fantastic job, especially being sick. I'm betting she'll get off for reasons of insanity or something, but there should be some pretty good dramatic stuff coming up.

Sorry to see Bradley gone though -- why does it always happen to the good guys? Not looking forward to his funeral at all.

I'm getting ready to watch that myself in a bit. I'm with everything that eefan just said. I know I was in shock with the revelation as well as the passing.

I was a bit disappointed with the Bradley thing. Watched him carefully throughout the show for signs of distress and although he was panicking there was nothing to suggest him doing such a mental out of character thing as climbing onto a roof and evading Police he couldn't evade. For me Bradley would have just held his hands up when it was clear he was caught.

On saying that thought the cast and the crew did brilliantly to pull it off. Especially after seeing how the sets fit together afterwards!

On the other hand I feel that me and Eastenders are at the end of the road. Struggling to watch these days and no longer make an effort to do so. I did this week for the live episode. Only Dot and Ian and maybe Pat and Phil remind me of the programme I'm used to. 25 years is maybe enough.

Thanks face --- already watched, and you were right, it was worth it. (I love all that behind the scenes stuff anyway!).

Of course, after watching both it was a 90 min phone call to Sky, to discuss all the events........ I rather think that both our husbands wonder just what we can discuss for that long Laughing ( Does Mr. Sky have any "idear", Sky ? Laughing)

Laughing His words to me that evening were "You are obsessed!"

Personally I loved it. I thought it was a great episode. I could really feel the sadness between Bradley and Stacey when he was saying goodbye. He knew that was their last scene together and so did she and they were both gutted, you could tell Crying At that moment I knew Bradley was done for.

I am thinking now that it will come out that Stacey told Bradley it was her. They had the moment up in the bedroom about "no more secrets" so the reason he was so desperate and running wasn't because he was worried about his safety but hers.

To me it's kudos to EE and I'm ready for another 25 more years! agree

That would make it better for me. My daughter felt that but that was when we thought Bradley had jumped rather than fell.

I LOVED Ian's video tape. That was a great way to get old faces back on screen. I don't like spoilers or trying to figure out ahead of time "who done it", so I was completely shocked when it was revealed who killed Archie! I thought it was a very well done epi and I, too, am ready for 25 more years.

I thought Bradley feel from the start and I'm still sure he was running to protect Stacey. Especially since he shouted at her to run.

17m tune in for soap murder confession as Eastenders star tells of shock
Feb 21 2010
Katie Hodge,
Sunday Mail

ALMOST 17 million viewers tuned in to watch Stacey's bombshell confession at the climax of EastEnders' live episode. Tearful Stacey, played by Lacey Turner, admitted she killed Queen Vic owner Archie Mitchell seconds before the credits rolled in the soap's 25th anniversary show. She told father-in-law Max Branning: "I did it, I killed Archie." Yesterday, executive producer Diederick Santer said the 16.6 million audience was "the icing on our silver anniversary cake".

Actress Lacey, 21, says she was only told Stacey would be revealed as the killer 20 minutes before the episode went on air. Bookies took more than £600,000 in bets on the culprit with 30 diff erent characters as suspects. Despite leaving the series in January last year, Stacey's brother Sean (Rob Kazinsky) was the bookies' favourite to be unmasked as the killer.

Lacey said: "I didn't for one minute think it would be Stacey. Th is must be the best-kept secret in EastEnders' history as we have all been trying to guess for weeks now. I got a call to go and see Diederick about 20 minutes before we went live. To be honest, it still hasn't sunk in and I can't believe that I was the one who killed Archie Mitchell. You watch the show and you read the script looking for clues but each week you see another character and really believe that they have the motive to be the killer."

Lacey, who lost her voice ahead of filming on Friday night, insisted nothing was going to get in the way of her performance. She said: "Everyone has worked so hard on this episode and it is such a big part of TV history that I just knew I couldn't miss it. I made sure that I rested my voice throughout the day to save it for the show."

Evil Archie, played by Larry Lamb, was bludgeoned with a bust of Queen Victoria in the Albert Square pub after alienating many of the residents. He raped Stacey while she was struggling to control her bipolar disorder and she initially thought he may have fathered her baby. Her murder confession came just after new husband Bradley - actor Charlie Clements - fell from the roof of a building as he was chased by police.

Lacey said she hoped viewers would have some compassion for her character. She added: "She not only has to deal with the guilt of what she did but she also knows that inadvertently she is responsible for Bradley's death."

A record 4.3 million people tuned in to watch EastEnders Live: The Aftermath on BBC Three, after the main show and another 1.4 million watched the repeat of the live show at 10.30pm. But the anniversary ratings are dwarfed by the 30.1 million who tuned in to see Dirty Den (Leslie Grantham) hand wife Angie (Anita Dobson) divorce papers on Christmas Day in 1986. Ladbrokes said it was the busiest 24 hours of betting on a TV series in the run-up to the big reveal.

TOP PLOTS THAT HAVE HAD US ON THE EDGE OF OUR SOFAS

The 16.6 million figure for EastEnders is a little over half the show's 30.1 million peak in 1986. But it compares well with other hit soap plots. Here are the top four and how many watched them.

Den And Angie

EastEnders After 20 years of marriage, Dennis 'Dirty Den' Watts (Leslie Grantham) ended his stormy relationship with alcoholic wife Angie by handing her divorce papers on Christmas Day in 1986. Viewers: 30.1 million

Scott & Charlene

Neighbours In 1988, lovebirds Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) and Charlene Mitchell (Kylie Minogue) finally walk down the aisle. Viewers: 20 million

Frank's Missing

EastEnders Frank Butcher (Mike Reid) vanished in 1994 and was presumed dead. But a year later, after Pat had moved in with another man, he made a shock return. Viewers: 17 million

Lesbian Kiss

Brookside Teenager Beth Jordache (Anna Friel) and friend Margaret Clemence (Nicola Stephenson) share the first lesbian kiss broadcast on British TV before the watershed in December 1993. Viewers: 6 million

She did a great job with the episode --- and I do think that she told Bradley when they had their little heart to heart in the bedroom before the big fall. Ah, more drama to come in the days ahead!

I think she told him, too! I also think he was luring the police away from Stacey so she could get away. sherlock I will really miss Charlie Clements' character - what a great guy he is! Wonder what they'll do with Stacey, now. thinking I hope she doesn't befriend that horrible Becka again. It was really her who is responsible for Bradley's death...at least I hope that's how Stacey sees it.

What an episode though. I was watching a few in a row and didn't realise that one was the 'live' episode until I was watching the Aftermath. I had to go back and watch it again. Still thought it was fab! clap

Can't wait for this coming week's episodes...wish I didn't have exams to study for - I'll have to wait till Friday to watch EE. annoyed

Ha ha - just realised I didn't need to put that in spoiler tags. Hey, at least I know how to do it now!
