The real reason for the Falklands war?

I've always believed that the only reason why Thatcher took Britain to war over the Falklands was because it made an ideal staging post. Staging post for what I wasn't sure, but this situation would seem to be more than a good enough reason for it.

Of course, I could be wrong and that whole war was really over which government a load of sheep farmers would pay tax to...
