Nick Cotton surprises Dot Cotton with granddaughter Sara Wallis
3/12/2008
Eastenders villain Nick Cotton has got a big surprise for his old ma Dot this Christmas - a granddaughter. Nasty Nick makes a dramatic comeback for the festive season - but this time with his daughter little Dotty. Dot, played by June Brown, is shocked to see Nick in the Square. Then she is stunned as seven-year-old Dotty, played by Molly Conlin, says: "Allo grandma."
John Altman, 56, who plays Nick, said: "Little Dotty's a chip off the old block, but even I don't know who her mother is yet." John, who appeared in the first episode of the TV soap in 1985, said: "I've filmed the Christmas scenes and I'm back to cause more havoc in the new year. No doubt Nick'll be off again. He's had more comebacks than anyone else. And he's definitely got the highest murder count." He added: "Nick's a bad egg. It'll be the first time viewers have seen him since 2001 and he hasn't changed."
"Allo grandma." "Nick's a bad egg...and he hasn't changed." You're killing me. This is going to be great and thanks for dredging this up Face. It'll certainly be a Christmas miracle for our Dot!
EASTENDERS villain Nasty Nick Cotton is to show his evil streak again — when he tries to SELL his daughter to his MUM. The twisted murderer stunned Dot on Christmas Day when he arrived at her door with Dotty, eight, claiming to be a changed man. But it was on the cards he’d soon be chasing the windfall chain-smoking Dot (June Brown) pocketed thanks to lovable grandson Bradley.
And when Nick (John Altman) offers to sell Dotty (Molly Conlin) God-fearing Dot is stunned. A source said: “She’s horrified when Nick tells her Dotty is for sale. He shows no emotion and his evil grin sends shivers down her spine. She always knew Nick would sell his soul for the price of some pick ’n mix but she had no idea he’d sell his own daughter. Poor Dot didn’t think Nick could still shock her but this rocks her to her core and even religion doesn’t comfort her.”
Dot has so far used the cash Bradley refused to take off love-rat dad Max to fund the Walford Christmas lights and a new church roof. The source said: “She wants to use it for good, not give it to a snake like Nick. But Dot can’t say no to Nick and she’s about to make a huge mistake.”
Wow, Nick sure has a " Bad Seed" with little Dotty/Kirsty, doesn't he? She certainly is a Rotten Cotton. But it does stretch my imagination a bit that a little kid would think to look for an insurance policy on her Nan. I suppose we're just expected to believe that she's looking for Daddy's approval and will do anything for it? It will be interesting to see how this develops......
And the plot thickens...she is just as evil and smarter, which is dangerous.
She's a nasty piece of work for someone so young. Whenever she is talking to Nick about "granma" it's pretty scary. Give her a few years and she'll be worse then Janine ever was!

EVIL Nick Cotton sends Albert Square’s caff up in flames — then makes an explosive exit, TV Biz can reveal. The villain is holding show favourites, including Bradley Branning, hostage inside the greasy spoon when a blast rips it apart.
In the aftermath Nasty Nick (John Altman) cannot be found — and viewers will have to wait to see if he has survived. Nick’s move comes as his scheme to use his daughter to scam mum Dot for cash begins to unravel. An EastEnders source said: 'Nick is causing chaos and all his lies are catching up with him. He goes into the caff and a fire is started, Bradley is one of the key people involved — but will Nick live or die?'
June Brown, who plays Nick’s mum, has already revealed she hopes the character does not leave the show yet again, leaving Dot without family. She said: 'Every time I get some they take them away from me.'
Nick’s shocking action, to be seen on the BBC1 soap over the summer, means the caff will get a new look. After the fire Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) uses his insurance money to turn it into a retro diner.
