Ronal-D'oh: Homer joins Manchester United in new Simpsons episode
3rd February 2008
Cartoon legend Homer Simpson is teaming up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United in an hilarious new episode of the cult TV show. Overweight Homer will take time out from a family holiday in England to work out with the likes of genius Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand in a bid to get fit. The special episode featuring Homer and his catchphrase "D'oh!" is likely to be aired on Channel 4 later this year.
A source told The People: "Americans have taken more notice of football now that David Beckham is playing in the US. Show bosses also know any trip the Simpsons take to the UK wouldn't be complete without a nod to football - and Manchester United are the best-known team. Most of the United lads are keen to get involved because it's such an iconic show. So getting them on board to do their own voices really shouldn't be a problem."

I skeptical of any episode that describes itself as "hilarious"
Can't wait to see it though.
I wonder if we'll see Wayne Rooney in Family Guy next? (Cue photoshop time for Face) |

You're so right about that. Especially if it's a Simpsons episode. The writing has really gone down the toilet in recent seasons, and they seem to have this obsession with special guest stars to cover for the fact there's no real plot.
The early episodes were badly animated but superbly written, the new stuff is slick and smooth, but artistically bereft.
I'll still watch it, of course, since nothing can be as bad as the Ricky Gervais episode. "Worst. Episode. Ever." :p |

Simpsons turn into zombies for Hallowe'en episode
1st October 2008
The Simpsons are transformed from a parody of the average American family to zombies in an upcoming episode. The family of five's yellow skin turns into a deathly grey pallor after they are turned into the undead in the annual Hallowe'en episode. The episode forms part of the annual Treehouse of Horror series, which has been running on The Simpsons since 1990.
Homer and Marge Simpson find themselves roaming the streets of Springfield with their three children Bart, Lisa and Maggie looking for humans to eat. Al Jean, executive producer of Fox's The Simpsons, told SCI FI Wire: 'We do this post-apocalyptic 28 Days Later/Children of Men thing. Krusty makes his hamburger out of mad cows, and it winds up turning everybody into zombies.'
The episode brings in a long debate amongst the horror film industry, whether zombies move fast or slow. Jean explained: '"We do a joke where Homer sees the zombies coming, and he goes, "Oh, zombies, you can always outrun them." Then they start running really fast, and he says, "Stupid fast-running modern zombies."'
