What I meant about profit is that the caller shouldn't be allowed to use the show to perhaps make money, when the show itself is not a profit making enterprise. This is the accepted middle-ground generally - at least in Britain where we are used to the BBC etc.
I'm not saying that you'd do anything for profit rather than truth, but a lot of people do. - and in my socialist mind, that's wrong. |

But I heard what he said. And what he said was no different than anyone pointing people to more of a library of facts then he could express at the alloted amount of time. He is advertising and he did not sound like a sales person or someone who wanted to make money. Did you hear it in his voice? He was a person that wanted to speak/spread truth. And I will fight for someone like that. It is why I know George Galloway, in fact.
It is a very grey area we are to play in right now:.......Where considerations are seeing someone who is trying to captlize on their air time or someone who wants to find facts from Galloway and give a library of truth on air. Both types of people, I am sure, have good intentions. |

| yes, but good intentions need to be tempered. To go straight into 'The Jews run the show' is just asking for trouble. What about the Protestant power base? It's done a lot more damage to the world than the Jewish one has, but it's simply not fashionable to question that. |

Hence why Galloway should smashed his face into the ground rather then let him escape into the darkness of ignorance. But with the way the conversation went, we could not even attempt such measures. Instead we cut him off and wasted the viewer's time. |

I've heard Galloway do the same thing on his radio show with a similar kind of caller.
I don't think it's anything to do with the book promotion or whatever it's because he doesn't want to get into the anti semitism thing because it's awkward for him.
For anyone who is critical of Israel there is always the dumb 'you're just anti jewish' thing lurking. For GG as someone who has been obsessively anti Israel even moreso. I think GG has maybe been burnt before in a short argument with this particular brand of nut - the American jewish conspiracy dickhead. The anti holocaust european anti semites are easy to shoot down but if you get ones that ramble on about how jews run the world for their own evil ends, I think it gets awkward for George because, although most of it is fantasy the element of truth in it - i.e. there is a very rich powerful jewish lobby in the US which basically props up Israel and allows it to do what it does, is a dangerous topic for him.
If you have a caller who rants a load of bullshit for 5 minutes but with a bit that is patently true and GG agrees with then next thing he's painted as an anti semite as the line gets blurred.

Two things...firstly my point was that no one should get a free ride...the guy was plugging a book and trying plug his website...you start allowing that and any eijit will phone in asking people to look at their website or to buy their product.
Second....it's Galloway's Game in both his TV slots and Radio shows...you want to play then you play by his game by his rules...no matter if you, me or the next man thinks that's fair. If he decides (or incidentally his producer, which I think is far more likely) to cut off anyone then bleating about it here isn't going to change a thing.
Sadly I don't think GG reads these pages otherwise his attitudes may have changed in the past months when they obviously haven't....either that or he doesn't give a tuppenny jizz for our opinions if he (or his minions) reads anything on here. |
