LOL I call it that cos men are so weird about eating Quiche .....Well we love it in this house and I have to hide it from the fella .....Cos I don't get a look in other wise
Real mans Quiche Lorraine ......
The Stuff...
Pastry for 9-inch crust pie
8 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled (use Streaky bacon in UK)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (4 ounces at least )
1 cup finely chopped onion
about 5 scallions chopped
4 large eggs
2 cups heavy whipping cream (You can use half milk and half cream too )
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
What to do........
Heat oven to 425 degrees. In bottom of pastry shell sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion and scallions, Beat eggs slightly; beat in remaining ingredients. Pour into quiche dish over bacon, cheese and onion and scallions
Bake 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 300 degrees and bake about 30 minutes longer or until knife in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
of course there is no end as to what you can put in a quiche
cheddar and broccoli for one
Asparagus and swiss another
Spinach and feta another ... The List is Endless
I like mine cold and with a Green salad .......
Kilo likes his anyway I drop it its so hot here at the moment Kilo just follows me everywhere
This Really is Delish and Easy and Cheap to make .......

I've never had a problem with quiche - it's bacon and eggs in a pie!
The pics look perfect, that last one especially. |

Mmmmm....I simply adore quiche. I haven't made one in years. I might have to give this a try once things cool off a bit. The idea of turning my oven right now makes me shudder. Wish I could cook it on the bbq |
