Just shows you that water levels have been lower in the past...unless, of course, the land in that part of Spain has sunk at some point since they built the church. The geologist in me is now wondering...may have to do more research. Ha ha ha - can't you just tell I'm a student!! |

but the article says they flooded the area - so I'm guessing they built a dam at the end of the valley. The point being that the dam is still there and the water that built up is now gone. I could be wrong though. |

Interesting. Makes me think of all the towns that are flooded on purpose or even by nature. Has to be fun to explore and check out now. |
