Good on them! But a disgusting shame that they had to be this extreme just to get basic supplies. |

Totally disgusting .. and so barbaric that the world let a whole region starve in an open air prison.
That's what the above reminds me off : A jail break. |

I've been puzzled at how Egypt has just been sitting on their hands while Gaza is starving. Why wouldn't they open the border to send aid to Gaze through the Rafah crossing? Are they such ardent puppets of the u.s. that they're perfectly willing to sit idly by as Palestians suffer?
On a slight tangent, one comment made by the Israeli foreign minister struck me as particularly odd. Something to the effect of, "as soon as the rocket attacks end, life will return to normal for the Palestinians." Given the track record, this would hardly constitute a respite. It's like saying, "after you give up all rights to resist, you can return to your regular degree of suffering as opposed to the extreme hardship we've decided to impose on you." How generous... |

Would a simple YES suffice ?
p.s. The Egyptians are now planning to re-seal the border :

"Egypt moves to close Gaza border - Appeared to be due to pressure from Israel and America to get a grip on the situation - Until yesterday Palestinians had been unable to travel abroad due to an Israeli-imposed siege on the territory

Another issue is the Israelis unilaterally define "end" as meaning anything they want, e.g. no firing within 1 year, 2 year etc .. whilst in the meantime everyone is starved in gaza.
If life was "normal" for Palestinians, there would be v. few rocket attacks (and most of these would be from the Israelis)
Hamas has already offered multiple cease fires to the Israelis, who always turns them down, or who start another mass murdering barrage which forces Hamas to retaliate. |
