Ex-Street star drink-drive charge

The former Coronation Street actor Chris Gascoyne has been charged with drink driving in the town where he has been appearing in panto. Mr Gascoyne, who played Peter Barlow in the TV soap, is due before magistrates in Llandudno next week. He appeared as Captain Hook in Peter Pan, which played to packed houses in the seaside town until last Sunday. North Wales Police said a 39-year-old man from the Manchester area was arrested early on Sunday 30 December.

Mr Gascogyne was last in Coronation Street, where he played betting shop manager Barlow, a year ago.
