I'd only caught bits and pieces of the series until recently, when I had a chance to watch them all. I'm looking forward to Sunday night.
If you want to catch a "preview" of season 5, you can find a .torrent here...

I've only seen series 3 (thanks to aja's suggestion a while back) so I've a load to catch up on - but I'm sure it's worth it. |

Seasons 1 and 2 were better than the third, imho. This clip, in particular, had me laughing pretty hard the 1st time I saw it. It's from Season 1 (ep4).

We (the wife & I) tried to watch this show more than once...
It's just something we couldn't get into... we did try tho', it's not often that we try to watch two or three episodes, then try again the next season... |

I've been surprised by the last few episodes. They're getting rid of some logn-standing characters, including ones I liked. Not necessarily nice guys, but entertaining to watch. Then again, they've done similar things in previous years (without giving too much away).
I have to agree with Aja -- it helps if you've seen all the seasons to date because they develop characters from season-to-season. |

they have been killing off characters i loved from the get go....... Remember
D'Angelo Barksdale...omg they foked him up bad ......and Russell "Stringer" Bell lol all the ladies were heart broken.....and Preston "Bodie" Broadus that was soo sad ....
the thing is about the Wire .....they keep on killing off mega stars ......but thats what makes it so true to life .....cos no one survives forever on the streets ...no one ....I love Snoop and Chris .....I really love snoop....and I adore bubbles ..bless him and macnulty ..well hes lost the plot ...but he makes sense .....he really does .....
Omar is brilliant ..... I was listening to a radio interview with him the other day .....I love him
he was talking about the beginning of the series ...and when no one knew where they were going .....and he had figured his part was gonna be gay ..so he did a screen kiss off his own back .....and omar Was made
I love bunk
I love Lester .....
This has been an amazing series ..... and I will really miss it ......Very very very well written.......
ps I was amazed at who they killed off yesterday |

Well, since there are plenty of spoilers in this thread now, I guess a few more won't hurt.
Omar and Bunk are my favourite characters.
I was glad to see Stringer Bell go -- he's the one who arranged the hit on "D". And Wallace.
Biggest losses have to be "D" and Bodie. Butchie was also a susprise -- so the guy last night had it coming to him. You dance with the devil, you're bound to get burned.
"Boris" (Sergei) is Ukranian. The rest are Greek. ("Malakas") Good villains. Of course, they've managed to avoid getting locked up (so far). Maybe that loose end will be tied up this season. |

Well, I just happened to be re-watching the series and had just finished Season 2 Episode 1 last night -- that's the one that introduces the Greeks and "Boris" -- so I had a slight advantage. |
