I'm just looking at this now - it took ages to download for some reason...
The main headline is about a sports team being sold, while beneath that there is a warning of a severe drought - of course, most papers here would have had the drought warning on about page 12! |

Well we seem to discuss alot about what Americans know and do not know about world affairs. I thought you would like to see what one of our local news outlets finds "front page" worthy. Sorry if you found it a waste of time. |

I didn't say it was a waste of time I just wondered what story in particular you were referring too. Now I know you meant all the stories. |

I thought it was interesting to see for that exact reason - cheers. It seems that both here and there, sport is the most important thing of all.
So that bodes well for the future of the planet! |

Thanks Marcella. One story which I did see made me suspect that their editorial has a Republical bias (please tell me if I am wrong).
It was the story on the bottom right hand side which ruled "Yes, the RNC makes some assumptions to simplify the math, but it’s still a fair calculation" |

thats interesting that bit about under 'peace talks have optimism, obstacles' with the 'hamas skipping them' bit, the annapolis summit i guess they're on about. they didn't skip them - they weren't invited! they invited fatah's mahmoud abbas instead!
what are the prospects for any type of 'peace plan' when you don't invite the majority democratically elected representatives for the whole of palestine to the talks?
you should see my local paper ... i'll have to see if they do an online version
someone nicked a load of paving stones around some war memorial the other week - probably got them in their garden, nice patio ... |

Nope it is considered the liberal paper! I have to admit though come election time they endorse candidates based on the person not the party. |
