Stars selling fecking perfume

I just saw an advert on the goggle box that featured Mariah Carey's arse. Naturally this drew my attention, but I was hoping for something more than an advert for some perfume. A perfume, I'm sure, that will be no more individual than going to Burger King and asking for your burger with extra gherkin! I can understand people wanting to be like their heroes, but to like the same cheap, corporate smells?

The picture probably isn't her arse admittedly, but hey.

apparently jade from big brothers perfume was one of the top selling celebrity perfumes in the country!

at least mariah carey's advert is far more pleasing on the eye ...

its weird though this whole celebrity culture, how interested some people are in it all, wanting to dress like them, smell like them ...

Some celeb perfumes and colognes smell really nice, some not so much. I honestly don't care which celeb wears them or not and have never really met anyone who buys the perfume or cologne because a celeb's name is associated with it. I do however, know people who wear them, but it's because they like them.

I'm not doubting they smell good, but all these celebrities are doing is telling a 'chef' to make a smell out of ingredients they already know work well. I'm not impressed by people who think being appreciated for one skill means that they should be as valued in another - vive les artisans!

I'm a little embarrassed to say I've purchased Britney's perfume, as in Britney Spears. I liked it at first when my sister was wearing it, but after awhile, it made me carsick while driving my own car. I gave what I had left to my sister. Some are good, but they don't smell good because of the name. It could have had the name of Peter finkelpfeffer and still smelled good. It's all a gimmick.

Now, if they were to sell a perfume that smelled like Mariah's arse, well maybe there would be a market for that....or not.

But you have to admit that it's a marketing con, Skylace.

There are people out there who would buy a Mariah Carey tin-opener if she put one out. It's just to make money based on a "name". Like the Split Aces playing cards, which are shite compared to Bicycle or Tally-Ho pro cards, but people buy them because David Blaine designed the backs.

I'm not against it if there's a good cause, but even in those cases you often see them taking part simply because it's good marketing for them to be seen doing something like that. Bono or Sting for example.
