ah cool, I was wondering when that episode was on. I'll have it online hopefully by about 11pm my time for anyone who can't get British TV.

It was complete bollox.

The canned laughter that wasn't even proper laughter, just a recording of a limply titilated clutch of doped, middle aged crones being shown a puppet show or something, that they kept playing at inappropriate times during the edits of the outings. Really annoying. Made everyone involved look like twats.

And what was that pointless jab at Respect by the host at the beginning? No wonder Armstrong & Miller isn't on TV anymore, if that's the best he can come up with - grinning inanely like a plastic clown, desperately pretending he's enjoying interviewing two people he cares nothing for and knows nothing about as part of some already-doomed stepping-stone vehicle to attempt to further his career.

"Ooh, gosh, I'm not in Armstrong & Miller anymore, cos the BBC telly people thought we were shit, so I best re-evaluate my career expectations and toddle along to the ITV studios and pretend to be all funny and grin-faced while doing a bad imitation of Eamon Holmes and prattling out cardboard jokes off the auto-cue written for me by some other toss jockey behind the badly designed scenes, so's I best..."

He reminded me of that alcoholic Eurosong presenter in the episode of Father Ted where they did the Lovely Horse song.

Arses!!

EDIT: oh yes, thanks for the upload, Face!

Thanks once again for capping and posting this, faceless. I'll check it out as quickly as my internet bandwidth will allow.

And welcome to the couch, DJJA. I see this is your first post. Did you really wait almost 3 months to make it? That's some world-class lurking.

Just seen the download, missed it on TV as for some reason I expected it to be on a Wednesday. I thought George did very well infiltrating as much socialist propaganda as he could into a very short show. The concept wasn't all bad, but the format (canned laughter, even at serious history lessons on martyrdom, bad jokes, an absolutely awful presenter exactly as Kate described Mad ) made it very shallow, trashy TV. There were some good moments which were wasted, like George arguing with Victoria that inequality isn't about intelligence, which was used for cheap laughs instead of being developed as it would have been on the show. Funny also that they kept acting like George was in the Labour party, Victoria even called him the most left wing Labour MP! (I also liked how she thought Marx was Saddam, as if George would wear a Saddam Hussein t-shirt!) I was also surprised how little time they spent on George learning about horses, though I liked his chat with Zara Phillips, I like these type of incongruous encounters. I generally liked the way George was able to relate to these aristos as human beings, without giving an inch on his hostility to the class system itself.

don't know if anyone saw this today, they just ridiculed george on a newsnight segment and tried to make it out as a publicity seeking clown! wasn't very nice, its always behind his back they could at least have invited him on.. i hope he beats jim fitzpatrick, they tried to make a fuss about him refusing to go on a gay pride float or something, with his muslim candidates. cheap tactics!

It was very, very cheap. Easy pickings. Really low blows...inferring that they were not only against gay rights but also Taliban sympathisers....mud slinging, and as everyone knows, if you say something often enough, it sticks (as in the oft quoted 'Galloway is a friend of Saddam' etc..).

Would you mind re-uploading this? The link in the Galloway section is long dead.
