I just heard Galloway say that he'd been reading on here the other night about how some people here were against his opinions on Iran... I don't actually remember the thread, but it was nice to get a mention. |

You should send him an invite for forum membership. It would be awesome to have the occasional post by George Galloway...

Yes..it would be great...i'll simply post outrageous thing simply to wind George up...I've found Geroge at his best when he is being agitated
Speaking of the GG, can anyone remember the programme in which Fred (the cabby) was having his discussion about WWII- he postulated that USSR would have won the war even if there was no significant help from US.
It was one of the best historical and thought provoking discussions on WWII i have ever heard. I just want to listen to that bit again. |

that show might have been August the 10th, Ash. Looking back in the archive pages my note says that there was discussion about the nuclear bombings of Japan, ending WWII, so there's a good chance it was that show.
As far as inviting Galloway, he's welcome to sign-up - I've opened registration up now, so anyone can sign-up if they want. |

OK .. I have to fess up .. there was an issue about lack of proof of Iran's involvement in Iraq which someone had e-mailed me about, and I forwarded it George. He assumed it was already on couchtripper.
Well the issue is on here now and lots of nice publicity |

I haven't listened to today's show, but did listen to the posted clip. I'm a bit surprised at the centext in which Couchtripper was mentioned. I recal several posts (including some of my own) taking exception to GG's stands on some topics, but none on Iran come to mind.
Oh well. As the saying goes, "any publicity is good publicity." It should be interesting to see what sort of new traffic this might generate. |

Good post, and he's right.
I used to think Galloway just stood up for the little guy, for the victim, and stood on the side of what's right. I've noticed though that that's not the case, he just tends to give Arabs the benefit of the doubt. The evidence for this is on how he talks about Iran, he'd never speak in that manner about any Arab nation.
You can just see how he's bought into the propaganda about Iranian involvement in Iraq. Not only that, he refers to the Persian Gulf as the "Arabian Gulf", no one in the world does that, the UN even recognizes it as the Persian Gulf. It's just another example of his pro-Arab bias which shouldn't be confused with a stand for the victims. |

I totally disagree with Johanssonit.
George does stands up for what he believes is right .. and I agree with him on the Iraq issue .. he is ANTI bombing, but as the Media lens replies says, Iran can't help but be involved in Iraq. |
