Marriage Wrecker!

Max Branning obviously hasn't heard of showing dignity in the face of rejection. Despite having a loving wife in the shape of pregnant Tanya, as well as two adorable daughters, the insurance broker isn't a happy man- especially not since learning that his ex-lover Stacey Slater has got engaged to his son Bradley. Still besotted with the saucy stallholder, Max sets out to destroy the teenagers relationship - before his former mistress becomes his daughter in law.

It's a case of I can't have you, so no one else can, shares Jake Wood, who plays the deceitful dad. Max wont let any man wed Stacey, particulary not his own son!

He can't bear the thought of her moving on and anyway he knows she's the wrong women for Bradley - she been sleeping with his dad after all! In Maxs' mind he"ll be doing her a favour ruining things.

So Max embarks on a misson to ruin Bradley and Stacey's romance, his first port is to call Stacey's mum Jean, to whom he complains that the newly betrothed couple are moving too fast. The next trick up his sleeve is by far is most callous, Max uses Jean's bipolar disorder against Stacey by suggesting to Dot that it's an hereditary condition, so Stacey could end up passing it on to her own kids, if she has any, explains Jake. This greatly concerns Dot, and helps Max try to dispel the Branning family's engagement.

However, the very individual Max had wrapped around his little finger for months is now the one he can't manipulate - Stacey.
The Bride to Be had her fill of the ageing Casanova, and spurs his plea to reconsider the engagement. With his ideas running out, Max makes a shock proposal.

He loves Stacey- that is what I believe, anyway - so he asks her to run away from the Square with him, reveals Jake. "I think he really means it too. Away from Walford and their families, I reckon Stacey and Max would make a good couple. They're similar creatures. It's a shame that they cant have an conventional relationship.

While she was once head over heels with Max, Staceys love is no more, and she rebuffs him, vowing to marry Bradley.
So the question is: Are Max's feelings for Stacey deep enough to push him to finally confess all to his oblivious wife and son in a last desperate attempt to be with her.

I think there's a long way to go before that, teases Jake. The storyline is going to run for a bit longer, with more surprises along the way. Personally I cant wait till everyone finds out - the devastation it causes will make for great television".

Also Max of course does not want Bradley to marry the sort of girl who would cheat on him with his dad as well.

They will Bring out the Dark Side in Tanya

There will be the arrival of Tanya sister Rainie who will reveal another side to the blonde mum.... Rainie is a heroine addict who pitches her in a terrible state, shares their Albert Square Insider, it not a straightforward tale - there is a shock twist coming which will prove that Tanyas not the goody two shoes who we think she is.

Rainie will be played by former family affairs actress Tanya Frank
