It's pretty obvious to me that they are setting these two up to be together. Actually, I think it's a much better match then her and Rob. Garry Hobbs might not be some sort of looker and he's a bit of a plank, but his heart is in the right place. Dawn needs someone a bit more like Garry. I am sure the course of their "true love" will not run smooth but I think if it's handled right it could be a fun romance to watch. |

Yeah, I can see them (EE producers and writers) setting these two up, and yes, Garry is a good guy at heart, but in real life, those two would never get together. If EE wants to inject some more unrealistic storylines, then so be it. I just don't think those two mix. Well, we'll see. I might have been wrong maybe once before..... ;-) |

See, and I think they do work well together. If Dawn would just get off her high horse that she has herself on she'd realize she's a proper eastend girl like the rest of them. |

Dawn is too immature and naive as well. She thinks she's better than the folks around her. Well, that's just my current opinion, but perhaps it will change with the wind in a few weeks...lol!! ;-) |

You never know. I have a feeling she is going to be a rubbish mother at first and then something is going to happen that makes her grow up. But I am with you, she is very immature. I am hoping that having Summer is going to help her grow up a bit. |

Exactly Sky. I think her little Summer might just do the trick. We'll see what the summer brings in lovely 'ole Walford. ;-) |

That we will and I think it should be interesting. |

Did I see that Dawn, having just brought Summer home from the hospital, begged Keith to care for Summer so she could go to Shirley's party. Anyone remember Mary from another lifetime ago? She had the spiky hair and crazy black eyeliner. She was dedicated to her baby. And remember how uppity Dawn was the first time we met her, in France? She's been too good for Walford since the day she landed. |

Yes I remember Mary!
I've never liked Dawn really. She's just too up herself. |

Ah! The memories! I wonder what Mary the actress has been doing with herself after EE. |

I don't know Pirty but I might have to find out now!
EDIT: Looks like the last thing she did was an episode of The Bill in 1993 |

Well, maybe you all can help me with a question! I've reviewed the EE episodes leading up to the birth of Summer, and I seem to have missed 2 things:
1. When did Rob & May decide to kidnap Dawn?
2. How did Garry become involved with Dawn to the point that HE was trying to phone her whilst Rob & May had kidnapped her? Did he & Dawn have some kind of intimate moment beforehand, or did this just come out of the blue?
Thanks in advance! |

1. Rob and May slept together in her surgery. The plan was probably formed there or shortly after. We never saw it discussed.
2. Garry has always had a thing for Dawn and tried to come on to her before. Remember he and Minty helped her move into her flat and have always kind of kept an eye out for her. They have kind of brought it to the forefront now because they are obviously planning something deeper between the two. |

Garry is totally smitten with Dawn. I predict that Garry's going to want to live with Dawn and support Summer like she's his. Not that Garry's a mug or anything, but didn't he do the same with Laura Beale and baby Bobby Beale? Didn't Lofty do that with/for 'chelle years ago?
I do like the Minty and Garry characters. There was a slapstick moment about six months ago when everyone was in church and Phil and Ben were wearing kilts. Phil was walking by Garry and pushed him, like they were in 5th grade or something. It was subtle and so funny! It could have been one of Honey and Billy's many attempts to get married. |

He did move in with Laura, but he thought baby Bobby was his at first. And Lofty did do the same for Michelle.
Yes, I love them both two. I know a lot of people say they are useless but I find them a lot of fun and entertaining. They're like the two big kids on the show. |
