---
"How can we say that killing a child in some cases is good and in other cases it is evil?"

Can it be the Vatican is going to start preaching "thou shalt not kill" during their sit-downs with such pious "leaders" as George W. Bush?

Either killing is wrong or it isn't, so which stance will the Pope take? "It's wrong unless we don't like the victims, in which case God understands?"

Abortion is one thing, but you really can't fault the Catholic church for not speaking out forcefully enough against the war. All the the mainstream churchs publicly opposed the war, but it was John Paul II who really led the campaign. He and Annan were the war party's chief opponents.

John Paul told the world that the idea of pre-emptive war was immoral.

well hopefully this won't have much if any effect to donations, i mean, i don't think any sensible person could go along with this;

Quote:
A senior Vatican cardinal said yesterday that Catholics should stop donating to human rights group Amnesty International because of its new policy advocating abortion rights for women if they had been raped, were a victim of incest or faced health risks.

i don't like abortion, but in those three cases ... none of those are the fault of the woman, and to stop donating to amnesty because of that is crazy. amnesty do a mass of good work outside of abortions - and to let that suffer because you disagree that someone else shouldn't have an abortion in those three circumstances is out of order.

just goes to show how backwards the whole church is to me. like the last pope telling people not to wear condoms to help prevent the spread of aids ... crazy.

dawkins for pope Smile
