I don't know the % of Germans who were Aryan, versus non-Aryan, but I would have assume the majority (75%+) were Aryan.
We are not disagreeing that Nazism is racist, but that racism came about them caring only for "their" masses (or what they called their Nationalism) .. but it is still "masses" of the left in the comparison to the capitalists on the right.
I fear the reason why "we" on the left don't like to call Nazis "extreme left" is that it might reflect badly on the whole left. But this is actually dangerous in that it hides from view that left wingers can be racist, and that road leads to Nazism. Isn't it better to call Nazis left wing extremists, warn against the danger of racism in our midsts, and the left to focus the debate on the true right wing, i.e. extreme capitalists / MIC which are taking us into huge never-ending wars ?

Various far right-wing politicians and political parties in Europe welcomed the rise of fascism and the Nazis out of an intense aversion towards Communism. The above would show that Nazism was supported by the extreme right / MIC ... which would chime with the stories of the huge loans Hitler got to finance his military machine (MIC) .. indeed, having a depressed labour force would have helped (cheap labour).
OK .. I concede .. Hitler could be called right wing extremism, supported by the extreme right / MIC. Indeed, above gives an extra perspective as to why Hitler invaded Russia. With the experience of the Iraq war, I could possibly see why he did invade : His military machine was built up with the purpose of invading / crushing communism. Having set up the armies against the borders, it wouldn't have been politically unacceptable to march them back again. That was his "Iraq"/"Iran" war .. something which broke the back of his Military. Maybe the MIC turned on Hitler for aligning with Japan which attacked the USA .. almost like Saddam invading Kuwait.
Let's leave the "left" as being a global socialist movement. I would like to make a litmus test of the "left" being social equality, aversion to capitalistic greed of the few, support for freedoms like those mentioned in the US constitution, aversion to too much power by the government [like in Orwell's 1984], aversion to war mongering. The danger is if "racism" takes a hold, then the "racists" become easy tools of the right to control, manipulate and divide the movement.
p.s. What is scary is the analogy : In WW2 : The MIC built up Hitler to attack Russia; Now, in WW3 (or 4), the MIC built up the USA to seize control of global resources. Both war machines were built on huge loans, including from overseas. The war ended in bankrupting Germany for decades to come. The fiscal outlook for the USA is not promising either.

| I was just about to argue that militaristic fascism/nazism is an ideal partner for the military industrial complex, and certainly was in Hitler's Reich, but GG Fan has argued that for me, so I think consensus has broken out. I also like your new avvi, kate, though I'll miss the old one too |
