BAD GIRL HEADS TO ALBERT SQUARE
EASTENDERS EXCLUSIVE 2
By Nicola Methven
5 January 2007
BAD Girls favourite Kika Mirylees is to join EastEnders as the mother of jack-the-lad mechanic Garry Hobbs.
The actress, who played loopy Lark Hall lag Julie Johnston for seven years, starts filming nest month.
She plays Hazel Hobbs, who will first appear on screen in April, when Garry attends her wedding.
An Albert Square insider revealed: "Hazel is a good-time girl who had plenty of boyfriends when Garry was growing up.
"She's come to Albert Square to spend time with her son and also eye up the locals."
Last night, Kika, 47, said: "EastEnders is a programme I watch a lot. I think it will be great fun.
"The character I am playing is a good laugh which makes a change."
As veteran G wing inmate Julie, Kika appeared in the first episode of Bad Girls in 1999 and also in the final one, screened last month.

That's a surprise, really. I didn't really think they'd expand Gary's storyline, but he has been on the backburner for awhile. Wonder if the storyline will be more on the comical side or take on a more serious tone. |

It's Eastenders - she'll probably be a crack-dealing granny ho! |

She's 47 in real life and is supposed to play Garry's mom? Sounds unrealistic for sure. She should be in her late 50's early 60's at least to play his mother. No? |
