Wasn't able to watch the whole thing, but, a sad state of affairs for sure. Kind of makes you think, especially at this time of year. |

I'm watching this just now and it is worth seeing for sure. The only other doc I've seen from N Korea was one that was filmed with official permission, so it's good to see the reality outside the cities.
Poor wee buggers having to scratch about for crumbs in the mud though... |

I saw this on tv not too long ago and it just broke my heart.
I don't know how anyone could walk past a starving child and not help them. It's the most callous thing when you hear that lady tell that poor little angel to go away. It makes you wonder how they couldn't want to embrace her...and all like her and give them something to keep them going.
Having nukes and a big ego are more important than feeding the children in that country, and it has to make people that have seen that take a look at themselves and know how lucky they are to have what they have and live the life they do, but it also has to make people want to just dive into the video and grab that child and clean her up and feed her and give her all the love one possibly could.
That's how it makes me feel and I wish I could. I wish I could help them all. |

I Couldn’t watch the entire clip it was just too heart wrenching to see.It breaks my heart to see children in such need when there is so much abundance and waste around other parts of the world. This is a tragedy. |

You're bang on fritz when you say there's so much abundance and waste around other parts of the world, and it's a shame that those of us that might be able to help, cant.
I don't think there's any place where money could be sent to help them without being taken by the government and used for anything other than helping the children.
It's a travesty to mankind that children live this way anywhere in the world. |

You're so right, fritz. I certainly sat down after seeing a few minutes of this and gave thanks for what I have. As I sit here now, watching a news report on a $15 000 bottle of champagne up for sale, I can't help but think how far that would go towards some needy children. Honestly, $ 15 000 for a bottle of wine? If you can even think of buying that, you have too much money! |

I just watched the rest of that and saw that it was made in 2000 - and that makes me wonder exactly what it would take for things to change. They didn't have nuclear weapons back then, and even if that was a reason not to go in, it seems clear that dictators are fine on the planet, until it becomes beneficial to remove them.
Everyone loves a liberating hero eh?
