I suspect that in the envelope that Ian gave to Peggy he must have told the Mitchell's to shove it, he wasn't going to marry Jane and Peggy could have Grant pay for the party, so Phil sent a quick text to Jane to warn her. Yeah Jane, one up on Ian |

Some of the spoilers have said that it's a note Ian wrote to the Mitchell's telling them to pay for the wedding cateringthemselves..... apparently not to be opened until after the "ceremony". |

What did make me laugh was Peggy's excitment over the bird, within a bird, within a bird. I laughed outloud. We have that over here, it's called "Turducken" (a turkey stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a chicken) It's a big southern treat served at holidays and special occasions. It also usually has cornbread and sausage stuffing stuffed in between the layers!

Hi Pirty! Yeah, I know! It's a bit much for me! Luckily in New Mexico it's not a big deal! |

I'd go for that in a minute! I saw something about it once on some historical programme and apparently they'd take it right down to a nightingale or something at the centre. |

I watched a show on it too. From what I remember it was 17 birds stuffed inside each other! and the last one was said to be stuffed with an olive! It was done in France in the 19th century.
For me the dish is just too greasy and doesn't settle well with my stomach. |

Saw a food network show on the Turducken once....... sounds neat but have never seen one available here. I wouldn't exactly picture it as wedding food, though. |

Yeah, that was awesome that Jane got Phil's text before going to that "lavish" Community Centre wedding venue (and Pauline & Ian were so snotty to Peggy about the wedding reception catering at the Queen Vic - whatever!)!!!
That was the first time in my EE memory where a wedding was held at the Community Centre, and it wasn't very impressive. Especially with Ian awaiting his bride in a rain-soaked suit ... he looked as pathetic as his intentions, didn't he? |

I thought it was silly that he was walking around the square getting wet. If it's your wedding day (real or not!) you'd have taken an umbrella to keep you dry.
And Jane! - no way would I have left the house to go out in the rain in that outfit, not just for getting wet, but it must have been so damn cold. Not believable writing from the scriptwriters if you ask me. |
