RANDY Russell Brand bragged he could take Kate Moss from rocker Pete Doherty anytime.

TV presenter Russ, 31, made the outrageous boast as the Babyshambles frontman Pete, 27, refused to go on his show Russell Brand?s Got Issues.

He had hoped to taunt reformed junkie Pete by spilling the beans about nights of passion with catwalk queen Kate, 32 ? revealing every detail of their fling.

But loved-up Kate had other things on her mind at a masked ball she attended with Pete.

She happily confirmed: "We are engaged."

Looking radiant in a gold dress ? an engagement gift from best pal Stella McCartney ? the model was more than happy to show off a discreet diamond ring to party-goers.

Pete addred: "Yes, we are getting married ? if she?ll have me."

The pair were guests at the Moet & Chandon masked ball in London?s Strawberry Hill.

It is the first time they have publicly confirmed their engagement.

The Daily Star exclusively revealed how the couple are to tie the knot to coincide with Kate?s 33rd birthday in January ? on party isle Ibiza with a host of star guests.

One guest at the ball said: "They had their arms around each other all night and made a very handsome couple."

Pete, who tussled with an Italian snapper in Rome earlier this week, was hiding two black eyes at the bash.

The couple also belted out Sixties classic hits Close To You, Itchycoo Park and Come Together on the karaoke machine.

A guest said: "The beautiful couple couldn?t stop making eyes at each other."

Russell reveals in New magazine: "I could get Kate back from Doherty.

"Pete has refused to come on my show, which is a shame because I would love to see him squirm with my tales of lust about Kate."

Ex-heroin addict Russell and blonde Kate enjoyed a romance in May while she was still in an on-off relationship with Pete.

Multi-millionaire Kate had begged Pete to beat his drug demons so they could really make a go of things.

And she took up with Russell after going to see his stand-up routine with best pal Sadie Frost, 41, at a pub in north London.

The trio went to Annabel?s nightclub, in London?s West End, where self-confessed sex addict Russell was hosting a charity auction.

They then went on to another nightspot before heading to the comic?s home where Kate spent the night.

But their romance fizzled out and the sexy supermodel is now back with ex-Libertines star Pete.

Kate has accompanied Pete on his Babyshambles tour of Italy.

Russell ? who refers to his manhood as his "dinkle" ? has bedded a string of girls including Big Brother babe Kate Lawler, 26.

But he is now intent on settling down, saying recently: "I?ve changed my outlook and would like a couple of kids."

I think it's a bit cocky of Russell to be saying all this though, as it makes him look a bit of an arse
