I think more and more are seeing the government for what it is. Recent polls I've seen have gone from between only 25% and 33% approval, so the large majority of Americans do think it's doing something majorly wrong. |

Of course your definition of who the government is has a bearing on things. Anyone who thinks that Bush really calls the shots on the big decisions needs their head examining.
The President is merely a figurehead for the people behind him with the real power. It doesn't really matter who you vote for, the results are ultimately the same. |

...which of course begs the question, who ultimately wields the most power?
Is it any of the (known) security services or I suspect more likely some other un-named government group hiding in the shadows.
