I'm English and didn't want Scotland to leave the UK but I'm absolutely baffled by George's support for Scottish Labour today.

Jim Murphy is pro-Iraq war, pro-Syria war, pro-privatisation of public services, Armed Forces Legal Action patron and former Chairman of the Labour Friends Of Israel group. That's why I object to him. He also disagrees with George on tuition fees and austerity (Murphy is in favour of both). Yet George said this about him on Twitter:

"Upon @jimmurphymp leadership now turns the future of all of Britain and the working people in particular. I pray for his success."

"I rate @jimmurphymp highly. But he needs to show he gets the post Blair era. I think he does."

It's like George hates the SNP so much that he'd ally with Tony Blair himself if it would keep them out. Jim Murphy is hard right-wing and his election shows how far gone Labour is. They don't deserve a single vote anywhere in the country. I want the Tories out too but I wouldn't piss on Ed Miliband if he was on fire.

Welcome to the club, Mr Mao. None of this makes sense.

It continues:

Tweeter: "Talking about football prose, have you read Jim Murphy's book? ISBN-13: 978-1849546980"

GG: "good book pity about the foreword :-) Murphy is a great player btw. Different class @jimmurphymp"

Tweeter: "I listened to him on 'Off the Ball' today. Came over as a pleasantly-spoken and very likeable sort of chap. "

GG: "He is a class act. There is no substitute for class..."

https://twitter.com/georgegalloway/status/546366944086331392

GG: "@labourout2015 I was expelled. But I'm labour until I die. Thus we are enemies. The fight has begun. I'm with Murphy. @jimmurphymp"

https://twitter.com/georgegalloway/status/546600653326671872

Tweeter: "i hear you're with murphy. that should be interesting, given that murphy's a zionist. arrange divorce lawyer yet?"

GG: "Divorce from whom? I'm with Murphy because he's the labour leader. More interested in his plans for Central Scotland than ME"

https://twitter.com/georgegalloway/status/546624697291784192

With the oil price falling and the independence referendum won, I don't think unionist left-wingers have much to fear from the SNP. I'd vote for them if I lived in Scotland. Labour should be wiped out.

GG: "I try not to comment any more on Scottish politics. I tried to save Scottish Labour from themselves. I failed."

I think this means normal service has resumed.

A 'single issue campaign' with no possible malign consequences, eh George.
A masterclass in misdirection and cherry-picked interpretations.
I wonder if this fantasy he envisages would be a "once in a lifetime' alliance.

Unity, before Socialism ?
