i did actually have a bar b q - just a cheap little one, but i left it behind in london - but if see one i'll certainly be going for it ... i'm having a house warming/birthday party in a few weeks so it would be ideal
i've also just been offered a microwave by the girl who gave me the bed, luckily shes going to drop it off for me in the week along with some other bits for the kitchen - result
i didn't think i used a microwave much but since i've been here i've realised one thing i did use it for ... jacket potatoes ( then i crisp the skins up under the grill for a bit ) |

Earlier I took a look out the back window and noticed that a neighbour had put out what looked like a big bookcase for the rubbish. I went down to have a look and found that it was 2m, made of solid pine and in excellent condition. I got another neighbour to help me up the stairs with it, and it's now been put to great use.
I'd been looking for something similar in the local charity shops and saw one going for £25 which seemed a bit steep, so getting this as a freebie is excellent. I think I have to say that bin-raking beats freecycling! haha |

Well done, Face. Gotta love free stuff!! Bin-raking or in American, dumpster diving, does have an certain element of the dangerous about it, doesn't it? I always hear the Mission Impossible theme when I think about dumpster diving... |

I noticed there was a Marks and Spencer sticker on the back of the thing and on checking it's just like this one, though without the drawers and made of pine. It must have cost at least a few hundred new if the £599 price tag on the mango one is anything to go by! £600 for a fecking bookcase?! madness.

I just got a 'new' fridge freezer from freecycle - it's 6ft tall and has enough space for loads of stuff. It cost me £15 to hire a 'man with a van' to pick it up, but that was a great saving of a good £50-£80 on one from a second-hand shop.
Brand new it would be about £300. Up yours capitalism!

Ooh, lucky you, the fridges and freezers always go quickly! I love freecycle, (or freegle as ours now is) I've recently gotten a big bag of cloth nappies and a lawn mower for my mum. We've been getting rid of loads too, I love how people want even the most random things! |
