The SNP are meeting to come up with a new plan in March. They always knew this would fail, but they had to do it to prove that we're being held against our will.

Martin Ellis, Liverpool.
Author: faceless :: Posted: Fri Jan 28, 2022 11:06 am
This is Martin Ellis of Liverpool. I've known him since the late 80s when we used to trade games for the Atari ST.

I recently got in touch with him again after hearing from a mutual friend that he was looking to raise some cash. I've been that way in the past so I was fine to help him. He offered a load of games and I picked a bundle that came to about £60. I sent him the money and then he went silent.

The thought of someone risking criminality for £110 (£60 of mine plus £50 from the mutual friend) is so fucking cretinous that I'm still shaking my head. I'm thinking about whether to report him for fraud, but for now I'll just post his details in case anyone searches for him in future.

Martin, when you read this - you need to refund the £110. You've got my bank details.

Democracy? in the USA or UK.
Author: gordonrussell :: Posted: Sat Feb 27, 2021 8:53 pm
I have been looking at election results in America and the UK and it looks like there has never been a modern General or Presidential election where any of the declared winners got over 50% of the potential number of electorate votes.

Greek demokratia, from demos ‘the people’ + -kratia ‘power, rule’ : perhaps 'minority rule' is more apt ?
