Mistakes in the media

I thought there was a thread about mistakes in the media before, but hey... the plan for this thread is to keep a record of mistakes made in the mass media. Not lies and deliberate misdirection, just obvious and daft mistakes.

Here's one from the Sky News website this evening.

Paradise Lost: Tourists Leave Riot Islands

Tourists have begun leaving a pair of riot-hit French Caribbean islands as France finally gave-in to campaigners demanding a higher cost of living.

The campaigners were demanding a higher cost of living? I can picture it now 'Jean, I just don't think we're paying enough for our fois-gras... Let's get out on the streets and demand action!'

Obviously the writer should have written 'higher standard of living'.
