Half-ton U.S. woman 'too obese' for jail

NEW YORK, August 22 (RIA Novosti) - A U.S. woman accused of killing her 2-year-old nephew cannot go to jail as she is unable to fit through a door to leave home, local media reported Friday.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, 27, who weighs nearly 450 kg (1,000 pounds), has been charged with striking her nephew Eliseo at least two times on March 18, crushing the child's head. A grand jury on Thursday indicted Rosales, from La Jola, Texas, on one count of first-degree murder and on one count of injury to a child. However, the woman never appeared in court because of her weight and was released without bail, based on her promise to return to court as required. As of Thursday evening, she was not in custody.

The Monitor online edition cited a local sheriff, Lupe Trevino, who said detaining her for a court trial would be impossible. "She would die," he said, because she needs full medical care. He added that the suspect would still soon face arrest, without revealing the details of the process.

Cut a hole in the side of her house, get a crane and carry her fat, disgusting, murdering ass to jail. Then put her on a diet.

Thanks, Kate.

BTW - I am NOT, in any way, shape or form, saying that she should pay for her crime.

I'll never understand how a person can let themselves get that heavy. I'm actually surprised she's even alive.

Not everyone has the same metabolism so their bodies don't process the food the same way. I am not saying that they don't over eat or eat poorly, but not everone can eat the same way with the same results.
