Mummy's little Lolita:
The 11-year-old girl whose beauty treatments cost £300 a month to make her look like Barbie

By Jenny Johnston
05th July 2008

She wore her first set of false eyelashes at eight, and her beauty treatments cost £300 a month. A sick abuse of an 11-year-old? 'No', insists Sasha's mother, 'I just want her to be famous...'

read the rest of the story HERE

-----------------------

I think the line where the mother mentions the idea of looking back on old photos and not liking what she saw is the most significant line in the story... I just hope that girl doesn't live to regret her mother's insecurity.

I used to see this kind of thing all the time when I worked in pediatrics --- and the majority of it is the kids picking up on their parents wishes. I do remember one little girl though - she was in the minority--- she used to love to wear dresses with bows and hats and pretty socks and shoes --- a little over the top, but it was nice to see a little girl look like a little girl and not some miniature barbie doll.

i don't think theres anything wrong with that, thats what girls of all ages like doing isn't it - dressing up! Laughing

buts it the makeup and false nails and stuff - thats so wrong crazed

galloway was chatting about this on his show last night, and some caller used to work for some sort of pedophile unit where they check these pedophiles computers - and he was saying they used to find links and pictures etc to child modeling sites Shocked

Dressing up is fine. That's normal. But adults trying to turn them into mini adults, that is something seriously wrong and just like Aja, it makes me sick.
Beauty contests for babies, tods and children. What on earth are we teaching them?
If anything when I look at the pictures of myself with those terrible braces, thick glasses and that terrible perm I can look in the mirror now and go "You've come a long way gorgeous!"
Hopefully this young girl and the others who are subjected to this idea of beauty don't get in a terrible accident that scars them, I don't think their mother's would be much help.
