I look forward to seeing this episode. But I think it would be a good story line if Keef didn't lose the ticket. It'd be fun to see how the character handles being one of the idle rich for a couple of months. Imagine the possibilities...

I wish he would have won a little more than that....At least to see him move out of Walford and off of our screens. A guy like that will blow it all without being responsible with it and use it to make himself more money. At least he'll be broke somewhere else...LOL!

Yeah, the lost ticket seems to be the obvious storyline. I would have hoped the writers would have done something different, like let him win a sizable amount and leave to see if he could get Rosie back or something. I hope that it is only Keith that leaves though. I like Mickey, Dawn and Darren...especially Darren. I think that he is a character they could do alot more with. His past story lines have been good.

Just the ticket for EastEnders star

EastEnders actor David Spinx is having a high old time of it lately thanks to the fact his alter ego, slobby father Keith Miller, has come up trumps on the Lottery. Sadly, he has also managed to lose the ticket, and is soon out of his family's good books. Here Spinx discusses the storyline, as well as what makes his grungy character tick. When asked whether he'd ever done anything similar to Keith, and lost a precious item, he says:

"I haven't ever lost anything as big, so I suppose I've been pretty lucky. But then again I've never won anything either, so I've never really had the chance to lose something as valuable."

The actor also regards his on-screen daughter's response of chucking her father out as perfectly acceptable, as he explains: "Of course it's not right to chuck him out, but I think Dawn has been pushed to the limit. It is actually Keith's house and he reckons Dawn will come round eventually, so he's not overly fussed. But at the same time he's a bit shocked that she would actually go through with it."

The star is clearly fond of his alter ego, but insists he has very little in common with him, saying: "I'm probably as chilled and relaxed as Keith, but unlike him I do get off my backside and do things. I just can't imagine sitting there all day doing nothing. He really does have it down to a fine art!"

As for his exit later this year, Spinx isn't giving any secrets away, but says: "I am leaving the show after almost four years. I've had the most fabulous time; it's been hard work but complex and rewarding. I'm sad to go, but we all move on at some point. My departure from EastEnders is quite dramatic and heroic." He added: "Not only the exit but all the build-up. too. Keith gets good!"

Did anyone notice last night that he spoke about being slovenly? Result! haha

That sure was a good episode yesterday. I don't know why it took this lottery ticket thing to put a fire under Keef. To me, it almost makes the kids look like the bad ones, because it wasn't their ticket in the first place, the greedy little boogers. Also, it wasn't a lot of money anyway. I've won 5 numbers twice in my life and it's never been big money. At least not what those kids were dreaming of doing...lol! "slovenly" is nice, delicate word to describe a slob, you have Keef's vocab/character down to a tee! LOL!

The exact phrase was "my slovenly tendencies" and I was peeing. I felt compelled to watch the scene twice because the first time I heard it I was stunned. Seriously, it is not humanly possible to laugh loud enough or hard enough at that line, so I sat there in stunned silence. it was that funny.

Here's the details about Keef leaving... couch potatoes across the world will surely shed a tear for their great unkempt icon having succumbed...
Hidden:

Mickey and Keith bid Albert Square goodbye as they leave for new lives
24th June 2008

It's a sad day in EastEnders when two of the Miller family bid the Square goodbye. Mickey and step-dad Keith say emotional farewells in the Queen Vic before leaving for their new lives. The move comes after actors Joe Swash, 26, and Dave Spinx, 57, were axed from the show because producers could not think of any more storylines for them.

The story unfolds when Darren and Mickey find a letter from Rosie offering Keith (Dave Spinx) a job at a hotel in the Cotswolds. They are both angry at him for hiding it from them for this length of time and to prove a point, Mickey (Joe Swash) decides he'll take the job instead – even though it will mean him leaving the Square. After speaking with Rosie, Mickey reveals that he can start his new job tomorrow and will be catching the next train.

Later, Mickey and a clean-shaven Keith say an emotional goodbye to everyone in The Vic before leaving for their new lives, along with dog Genghis.

Well they are gone and it was far from an exciting exit line. Keith didn't look too much different before he left. His hair was pretty much the same length that he arrived on the Square. But I haven't missed him one bit. Mickey I do miss, but I am sure it won't be that much of a problem to adjust.
It show to me again how little time Dawn spends with Summer. Her first comment the day after they left was how her baby sitters have left and then she tries to hit up Darren for watching Summer. Geez.

The only way Jay will get out of babysitting for Summer for the rest of his life is to either run away or get sentenced to confinement in jeuvenile detention, both of which are credible plotlines for him anyway.

It was cute that Zainab was the one who cut his hair, spruced him up and was present at the Vic when he left the Square. She's such a germpahobe, i have visions of her wearing a white haz-mat suit while trying to cut his hair with a ten foot pole which explains why his hair still looked like hell for his swan song (no pun intended, but clearly funny) from Walford. Swan song. I'm cracking myself up.
