I don't know why, but the title of your thread made me laugh like crazy (but not at your misery though!).
OK - so you need to take some decongestant tablets--- don't know if you can get pseudophedrine where you are, but that's what I'd suggest if you can get them. Steer clear of those combination products if you can so you can add a pain reliever if you like. They'll dry you out like crazy though so lots of fluid.
But the absolute best thing you can do is take a hot shower and let the humidity get in there. Also, get some normal saline nasal spray and use that --- if you can unblock your nose, your ears should follow since they're connected.
And a nice shot of rum in your tea--- er, just don't get drunk

Nothing a good "Hot Toddy" won't cure m8 (I hope)...
I also find that a good Wasabi (or plain horseradish) sandwhich helps...
Yup... Bread, butter & loadsa wasabi... it cleans out all the pipes & more...
Followed by another good Hot Toddy & maybe a large shot of the anticeptic whisky to follow... hic...
Hope ya' feel better m8...
Seriously, a good scotch in ya coffee, a few good shots & some hot stuff (wasabi / curry etc) & you won't feel half as bad. |

Can colds travel from Scotland to Canada over the computer?

Hope you are feeling better, Face! I am happy to say that our clan managed to stay healthy this holiday season...except for those self induced bouts of flu! |

Not sure if I too have a dose of Scotsman Flu...
(quite a bit like man flu)....
It's hard to tell with all my sinus problems (infections / pressure / pain), but I'm pretty sure that something more is amiss the past few days.
Congestion, tummy troubles (chose my words there ) & not been able to keep anything but liquids down... even then only clear liquids. |

I often make a honey infused with garlic & oranges for times like this....
Alas, I am all out of the stuff (due to the kiddies having sniffles recently).
Honey draws out all the goodness (why it's used in poltices, it will draw anything out, good or bad) from the garlic, the orange etc...
But it takes a while to do it
For adults a teaspoon or two of the infusion with some whiskey or brandy & hot water (or even strong hot black coffee) is a great soother & aids for a quicker recovery...
For the kiddies, the same without the booze & occasionaly if needed it will help mask other medications (such as powdered pain killers / fever reducers for them).
It's a simple recipe:
Take a dozen garlic cloves & a medium orange, crush the garlic with the flat of a knife, slice the orange & dump them into a jar of honey... set it aside in a dark warm cupboard, the longer you leave it the better it gets.
(I used to do the same thing with certain 'Fungus' too... made sure not to mix the two up also )
At a push nowdays (when outta the honey mix), I go back to the good old fashioned 2 cloves of garlic crushed as fine as I can get it in a few ounces of Orange Juice... sounds nasty but the OJ takes care of most of the garlic taste... loadsa' immune system help in a quick drink. |
