A marketing trick .. but if someone was stupid enough to buy it, then it would show the warped values in our society, whilst billions are starving round the world.

Enjoy .. sounds EXCELLENT !!!

I recall being in NY and just walking around the kids store on 5th Avenue (I think) .. reminds me of Hamleys in London.

I think that NY store was featured in the move "Big" -- though can't recall the name

You'll have to tell us how all the food is Aja.

The hubby and I are wanting to plan a weekend get away to New York. He now goes there for business often. It will have to wait until after we close on our house though.

I'm so jealous. We already agreed we will be going to New York sometime next Christmas.
My dad was born and raised in New York so I went often as a kid but haven't really been since I was an adult and I want to now!

I have a sister who lives near NYC -- can highly recommend the Serendipity chocolate drink -- it's fantastic!! I'll be there 2nd week of December as well, taking my nephews & niece to Rockefeller Centre. NYC is awesome during the holidays!

PS: Just as FAO Schwartz was featured in the movie, "Big", the Serendipity shop was also featured in the movie of the same name, starring Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack.

I'll be taking my Hubby to NYC during Christmas week. We'll have dinner at Bubba Gump's and watch a NY Ranger hockey game. I love wandering the city, it's got such a buzz to it. Have a great time Aja, the kids will love it at Christmas time.

Scary :
"Shop selling world's dearest dessert shuts for mice, roaches"
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-11/16/content_7087664.htm

I suppose once it reopens, it will be the safest place to eat in.

I was thinking I shouldn't post it since I didn't want to upset you .. but at least this might save you a trip to the place only to find it shut.
