Don't pee in Street, stars told

Coronation Street's male stars giggled at a "don't urinate in the open air" warning from bosses. But producers are serious about the ban being included in a list of rules for dangerous scenes being shot in the Lake District this week. They say cast and crew must always have "both hands free" to stay balanced on rough terrain.

And while that is hard on anyone caught short filming factory boss Liam Connor, played by Rob James-Collier plunging 300ft off a cliff, a source said: "Safety is priority." Liam's girlfriend Maria Sutherland (Samia Smith) will also fall into a river running for help in the life-or-death drama.

And the real threat of injury means loads of location laws - like hard hats being worn and nobody wandering off paths. The insider added: "The rules are unprecedented but even those who joked about the no-peeing one have accepted them. It's just that Cumbria will be freezing - so we'll be more susceptible to calls of nature."
