Corrie's Hayley comes a cropper

CORRIE’S Hayley Cropper is viciously beaten up by her long-lost son in scenes that will shock viewers.

The Street’s transsexual, played by Julie Hesmondhalgh, was unaware she had fathered Christian 20 years ago when she was a man.

But he flips after hearing the news and discovering Hayley has been lying to him by pretending to be his aunt.

He drags Hayley into some undergrowth and viciously assaults her.

An insider said: “Christian is utterly devastated.

"He believed her when she said she was his aunty and had accepted her as a new part of his family.

“But once she comes clean, he can’t control his anger and just lashes out at her.

“It’s a pretty gruesome scene — and there is plenty of blood.”

Viewers will see Hayley get the bombshell news about her son after she attends a relative’s funeral.

She finds a letter revealing the family secret in a box bequeathed to her. Mortified, Hayley hires a private investigator to find him.

But instead of telling Christian (Andrew Turner) the truth, she claims his dad is dead and that she is his father’s sister.

But she can’t stand the guilt — and arranges to meet him at a remote beauty spot to spill the beans.

An insider said: “Hayley is devastated when she gets the news about Christian — especially as she told hubby Roy she was a virgin when they met.

“She decides to lie to spare everyone the heartache.

“But the burden becomes too much and she arranges to meet Christian away from the Street — away from prying eyes.

“But she soon learns the error of her ways.”

The shocking scenes — filmed at Rivington Reservoir in Bolton on Friday — will air next month.
