Celtic play the first game of the new season today and I'm quite looking forward to watching it on the radio...

I just went to their official site at www.celticfc.net and it seems like something strange is afoot, as the link took me to this Czech car hire company!

GERS IN THE DOCK
Sectarian singing will be reported by SPL delegate
By Scott Mcdermott

RANGERS face an SPL rap after bigots belted out banned sectarian songs at Inverness yesterday. SPL delegate Alan Dick will report Gers after sickening chants from a section of their support marred a 3-0 opening day win at the Caledonian Stadium. Now the Ibrox club face a hefty fine or even points deduction. These punishments were laid down in an SPL charter launched last month to rid the game of bigotry. The charter pledged to punish "unacceptable conduct" by fans and now Rangers are the first club to land in the dock. Dick will report to league chief Lex Gold that he heard banned songs such as Derry's Walls and The Sash.

The controversy comes just nine days after Rangers launched a "Follow With Pride" campaign aimed at ending sectarian and other abusive behaviour. Gers copped a fine after unsavoury singing in a UEFA Cup tie against Osasuna last season. Yet Rangers have worked tirelessly to eradicate sectarianism. Last night an Ibrox spokesman said: "The club is committed to continuing our efforts to eradicate inappropriate behaviour. We'll look into the circumstances."

SPL secretary Ian Blair said: "I'll look into Alan's report. If there's a case to answer we refer it to an independent commission under a legal chairman. If there's been a breach of rules sanctions include a warning, fine, points deduction, all sorts of things."

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said: "There were sectarian-type chants. No individuals were identified."
