UK and Israel Fall Out...
britain and isreal face a diplomatic and legal showdown this week over the death of James Miller, an award-winnig british film makerwho was shot by Israeli soldiers while working on a documentary in the Gaza Strip more than four years ago.
Israel has failed so far to respond to an ultimatum issued by Lord Goldsmith, to launch a criminal investigation within six weeks against the officer who is suspected of firing the fatal shot. The deadline expres tomorrow.
The IDF's first instincts in all cases is to protect its soldiers, as shown by its reluctance to try soldiers in the face of serious evidence and international pressure.
