Paris of the Prairies is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I don't know where it got that name...

Poets is a good tune. I think my favourite Hip tune is Courage (can't seem to find it online). Others are just too numerous to mention (Yawning or Snarling, Little Bones, 38 Years Old...)

But we better shift gears lest we bore the others... Very Happy

I've got a very unconventional taste in music, but what the heck.

I can't believe I didn't notice this before, I'm a bit of a music geek Laughing

A song each from my 2 favourite bands

First Sleater-Kinney - Oh! dl

second Smiths - William it Was Really Nothing dl

PS Sorry I couldn't think where to get a direct link to a smiths song, so this is a poor quality live version, but i'm sure everyone knows them anyway Smile

PPS Nick Cave is Amazing

What is it about you, til661? Politically and now musically we're extremely similar, were we separated at birth or something?

I promise not to hog this thread, but seeing as The Bad Seeds went down well, here's something a little more obscure: she's an alt-country singer from Virginia, USA who takes her inspiration from Loretta Lynn and Russian folk tales / mythology.

Neko Case is really great, the New Pornographers have an album out this year aswell Very Happy

If you like her could I recommend another artist. Nina Nastasia does really beautiful, melancholy, minimalist country songs and has stayed on Indie Labels aswell: Here

Lol....same here. Not that i'm obsessed or anything but..I've got all the official albums, just about every single, dozens and dozens of rare tracks and covers (my particular favourite being his cover of Street Life by Roxy Music thumbs ), dozens of live videos, my desktop wallpaper is the smiths and I consider seeing him at wembley last year as one of the greatest days ever...incredibly sad i know. probably borderline OCD Laughing

I use to have a poster of Morrissey in my bedroom Embarassed My brother got me into listening to them and I ended up with a mad crush on ole Morrissey at a very young age. Quite disturbing! Laughing

I've a huge collection of Roxy Music as well. I had a wee crush on Bryan Ferry as well, but not as big as the one on Morrissey. I use to think he was ultra cool, but after seeing what he looks like now and I'm in a bit of shock. He's very much my elder but ah well....The Smiths music itself is timeless and some of the most brilliant I've ever heard.

I forgot to mention the poster in my bedroom Laughing sadly i don't even have the excuse of being a teenage girl seeing as i'm a mid-twenties male Embarassed shhh Laughing To be fair though it is the Meat is murder cover not Morrissey himself so that's ok...sort of.

On a related note the new modest Mouse album with Johnny Marr is amazing.
