To be honest, it doesn't give me the slightest feeling of satisfaction to hear the official change of opinion.

But I'm happy to hear it.

I hope maybe now USA and Canada will join in signing Kyoto accord, although I feel changes must be made to that.

Countries like India, China and Brazil have no responsibility to cut emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases and here's China continually building coal fired power plans and increasing the problem.

I don't believe the point system is very logical either. I know it's meant to help developing countries but when these countries are going against what the accord is trying to accomplish then it doesn't make much sense to financially compensate them.

You're right, Irish. I think that China stands to be the biggest threat to Global Warning --- something needs to be done about that. Fiscal compensation to other developing countries without changes to the standards seems pointless --- almost like burning money.

You're right - apparently cows give out as much greenhouse gases as all cars do. So it seems logical to me to get rid of all private transport and make people become vegetarian!

I wasn't kidding m8...

In fact, cows have done more damage to the ozone than anything man made has ever produced & also over a greater time scale.

Some boffins are attempting to get a bacteria or enzyme (I forget which) that is natural in kangaroos & implant it into cows...
This bacteria/enzym is the reason that Kangaroos don't fart even tho' they have the same diet as cows.
Add this to a cow & we greatly reduce further atmospheric problems.

I didn't think you were kidding, and I wasn't about what the answer is either!

I knew you were not kidding either...

I was pointing out to 'others' that perhaps my sarcasm or bad pun intended other posts were not to be lumped in with this one.
