I noticed that George is going to be on TalkSport a heck of a lot over the Christmas week and I was wondering how many of those shows are going to be recorded and posted here. I don't want to miss any of them but I'm definitely not going to be able to catch them all live.

What's the plan, Faceless? Smile

hi Kate,

I was just looking at the schedule there and I really can't say how many will be posted. I'll try and do as many as possible though.

Sounds good.

I can try and capture some of them if you let me know which ones you won't be able to get - the problem I have is that my only way to do it is to capture the stream with Roxio Creator 6, which seems unable to save small files.

We could try this if you like, and I can send you a ginormous file that you can somehow optimise?

I just looked at this piece of software called "Mini Stream Ripper" and it seems to be perfect. You can get it here:

CLICK

You put in the stream information, setup the recording preferences and away you go. I recommend you put it to 48k for optimum quality. Once you've got the file ready you can upload it to www.sendspace.com (free, and no registration) and then post the link here that you get...

OK, I'll give that a go. Thanks!

Let me know which shows are you will be unable to record and I'll try to get those ones.

Here's the rundown from the official site for anyone who doesn't know. Tonight's show runs from 10pm to 1am.

Sunday, 24 December: 8pm to 11pm (note the extra hour)
Monday, 25 December: 10pm to 1am
Tuesday, 26 December: 10pm to 1am
Wednesday, 27 December: 10am to 1pm (morning to afternoon)
Thursday, 28 December: 10am to 1pm (ditto)
Friday, 29 December: 10am to 1pm (ditto)
Saturday, 30 December: 10 pm to 1 am (later than the nomal Saturday night show)
Sunday, 31 December: No show
Friday, 5 January: 10pm to 1am
Saturday, 6 January: 10pm to 1am (later than the normal Saturday night show)
Sunday, 7 January: 8pm to 10pm (back to normal)

The fact there's no show son Hogmanay or for a few days is good news, but Kate, if you want to try and catch the morning shows that would help for sure.

ok, it seems that no one has recorded yesterday's (Friday the 29th) show. I've looked on all the sites that I know do the show and not one has it... bugger!

If anyone reading this knows anyone who records it can you ask them if they have it? It could end up being "the lost show" at this rate.

I am so sorry about this, faceless. I said that I'd try to record all the morning shows this week, and the only one I managed to miss was the only one that we needed Sad

I just got an email from the guy who runs the official site saying that he definitely didn't get it either... looks like we might be lucky to get the show at this rate.

Ah well - the daytime shows aren't as much fun if you ask me anyway.

There's a user on YouTube called EvilGoblin who has a massive collection of Galloway vids and audio - he might have got it.

Most of the videos and audio he had on there were just taken straight from the archive here and reuploaded, and I think he goes to the same sources as I've checked for new stuff. You never know though...

seems like it's gonna be "the missing show" after all... I'm sure there will be someone out there at some point who'll realise they've got something that a lot of people want and get it released. I'm pretty sure also that talksport offer a CD backup service of shows, but the last time I looked (months ago) it was something like 50 quid for each hour, so that's unlikely...
