JILTED Nikki Grahame went from Big Brother loser in love to telly?s biggest winner last night.
The troubled 24-year-old provided the big shock at the National TV Awards.
She took sweet revenge on the man who dumped her ? Tourette?s sufferer Pete Bennett ? by beating him to be named Britain?s favourite reality TV star.
It was a stunning reversal of fortunes for the petite blonde, whose life has unravelled since she left Channel 4?s top reality TV show.
Nikki, who was humiliated by BB winner Pete when he dumped her just after the show ended, won the TV Contender award at the star-studded bash in London.
She beat Pete, Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton, 23, I?m A Celeb?s Carol Thatcher, 53, and Soapstar Superstar?s Richard Fleeshman, 17.
Nikki revealed she and Pete have kissed and made up. She said: ?We are friends again now. All the animosity between us has gone.?
She also said she liked Pete?s new bright hairstyle, adding: ?It is red and pink, I like pink, it is my favourite colour.?
Nikki and Pete even posed together for photos on the red carpet.
She added: ?I?m really enjoying myself. It?s a massive achievement just for me to be nominated.?
And there was an even bigger shock when fallen star Michael Barrymore handed Nikki her gong.
Barrymore, 54 ? who made a comeback earlier this year in Celebrity Big Brother ? was smuggled into the Royal Albert Hall.
Nikki was famous for her tantrums and went on to star in her own show Princess Nikki on E4.
She also joined Pete on stage to collect the best reality show prize on behalf of Big Brother.
An NTA source said: ?Nikki?s victory was the most surprising result.
?Nikki has proved much more popular than Pete. It certainly is a wonderful case of revenge for her.?
Ant, 30, and Dec, 31, up for a record four awards, ended up with two ? for most popular entertainers and most popular quiz.
The success of their Game Show Marathon ended a seven-year winning streak for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host Chris Tarrant, 60.
It was another night of success for the BBC?s Sci-Fi hit Doctor Who, which was most popular drama.
Stars David Tennant, 35, and Billie Piper, 24, also went home with the best actor and actress awards.
EastEnders was named best soap for the second year running ? once again leaving rival Coronation Street in the shade.
And 19-year-old Charlie Clements ? Albert Square?s Bradley Branning ? was also celebrating as he was named best newcomer.
Deal Or No Deal was named best daytime show to complete 57-year-old Noel Edmonds? comeback.
And jet car crash victim Richard Hammond, 36, helped Top Gear win best factual programme.
Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, both 54, and Simon Cowell, 47, showed they had the X Factor to retain the best entertainment show gong.
Little Britain?s Matt Lucas, 32, and David Walliams, 35, scooped best comedy, and Walliams won the TV Landmark category after swimming the Channel for Sport Relief.
Super sexy Kate Price gothed it up for Halloween as she unveiled a new dark look at the bash.
The 28-year-old glamour girl ? alias Jordan ? was joined on the red carpet by babes including Hollyoaks? Gemma Merna, 22, and Corrie?s Tina O?Brien, 23.
The event received a record 2.8million votes. It is being screened by ITV1 at 8pm tonight, hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald, 67.

It's no surprise that Nikki is more popular than Pete. She's had her own show and a lot more exposure than him so it was bound to be that way. |
