Man Charged With 'Snowball Fight' Murder
December 25, 2009
A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death following a snowball fight. Anthony Finbar Burke, 20, was attacked in Clos y Berllan in Rhuddlan, near Rhyl in North Wales, last night. Oliver Michael Taylor is charged with his murder and will be held in custody until he appears before magistrates in Caernarfon on Boxing Day.
A police spokeswoman said it was believed Mr Burke was involved in a snowball fight. He was taken by ambulance to Glan Clwyd Hospital where he died of his injuries. Mr Burke's neighbour, Ray Patton, told BBC Wales: "I've known him all his life. It's just a tragedy for the whole village. It's a big, big shock for a village like Rhuddlan for something like this to happen." Mr Burke's family asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.
Officers have been conducting house-to-house inquiries and are keen to speak to anyone who saw a group of youths in the street between 10pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Apparently you can bring a knife to a snowball fight.
