A new young actor has been cast in the role of Walford's Peter Beale, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.

The part will now be played by 14-year-old Thomas Law.

Of his new role, the actor told DS: "I couldn't believe it when I heard that I got the part, I'm really excited as I am a big fan of EastEnders."

The teenager, who has been modelling since the age of four, has previously appeared in several episodes of Casualty.

Law is the fourth actor to appear as the son of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), his predecessors being James Martin, Joseph Shade and Alex Stevens.

The all-new Beale will make his debut on Thursday, August 31, alongside on-screen sister Lucy (Melissa Suffield).

He looks too wholesome. Like he should be in a commercial for "Nutella" or something.

The young actress who plays Lucy is a right little madam, just like her deceased mum, Cindy. I always felt that Peter was mis-cast in comparison to her. Hope the new kid works out, and shows a side of Cindy as well. That will definitely keep Ian on his toes, won't it?

So are the EE Writers going to actually put Peter and Lucy in a story now or are they going to continually be in the background as per usual?

I am ressurecting this old thread just to comment that this young man has become quite a looker! I am trying not to sound like a creepy old lady, but he has turned into a nice looking young man and is now finally an equal with Lucy. She was always taller and such and now they actually look the same age. I hope the writers aren't going to try to make him a "bad boy" by paring hime up with Zsa Zsa...Clever way to to intor the new characters BTW...Is anyone going to watch E20? I thought I might give it a shot...

I'm with you Spurs. I was just thinking this myself. He has grown into a very handsome young man. I hope they keep him nice, not necessarily gullible, but nice.

I thought I might give E20 a go. I found it odd that they had them introduced on the regular show since I had the impression it was going to be separate. However, the cross over may be fun.

The new EE spin off. It is going to center around the teens and (I could be wrong on this) is going to be in the internet. It premiers on the 20th of this month.

He's certainly growing into his looks, isn't he? I thought he was too wholesome looking when he first started on the show but he's growing on me now Laughing

I had quite forgotten about E20 starting this month, so thanks for the reminder guys Smile

I agree with you Sky, I hope they keep him nice but not a doormat. Rare in soaps, but a girl can dream.

Am I right? Is E20 going to be on the internet only? I wonder if that means anyone outside the UK won't be able to get it...

now now Spurs, you seem to be forgetting where you are. There are no borders on The Couch, only timescales!

I didn't realise that the E20 series had started already, so I'm getting the first 3 episodes just now. They'll be in the soaps download thread later...
