I could see the potential of this working as business plan, but it would mean hundreds or even thousands of job losses. |

I just heard that ITV are cutting back on some programmes - The Bill will only have one episode a week now, which is how it was in the first place. |

itv is rubbish though, i think the only thing i ever watch on there is harry hill
if they had things people actually wanted to watch, they wouldn't be doing so bad with advertising revenue |

Corrie's good and Emmerdale is very popular, the Bill's worth a watch and there are also quite a few mini-series dramas that crop up. Harry Hill has reached a plateau I reckon though - there's not been a single new idea in this series.
Channel 4 are also doing pretty bad with advertising, as is Channel 5. I blame those pirate types who take all the adverts out of the shows and make them available for download... will nobody think of the poor TV execs?! |

Nobody's really done high-quality streaming since Stage6 collapsed. That vreel attempted it, but ended up being little more than a money pit. As far as I'm aware, the reason they don't stream internationally is because the actors , musicians and advertisers are all on set rates for broadcast within the UK only. |
