Indeed it's rather nice to finaly find out the conundrum of eye colors....
I knew a young couple a good few years back who ended up divorced because they both had blue eyes, as did generations on both sides, their child has brown eyes & the guy was convinced that the wife had been sleeping around. (Pre DNA Testing for paternity).
I wonder if these scientists can explain color change... apart from the joke of having 'Red eyes' sometimes, my eyes do appear to change color & I have seen the same in other people too...
I was born with Hazel eyes... yet at times they appear dark brown & often other times green? |

I can't remember exactly, but I learned in biology at school the works of Mengel (the monk) and he showed how eye colour was all relative. This study doesn't seem to change anything that we were taught, but I might be picking it all up wrong. |

That has already been explained. It has to do with blood flow to the eyes. It's common. I have it as well. My eyes range from green to ice blue. |

Red eye is really just a reflection of the blood supply to the eyes---- it's picked up by the camera flash --- FYI, in dogs, it will reflect as blue.
As for eye colours that seem to range (like Sky mentioned hers do), there again, it's a reflection of light, so can change depending upon what clothing someone is wearing or what type of light they're in (sunlight, candle light, etc.). |
